Chicago Trip – Spring 2005

This was a trip that I took with several gals that were seminary wives with me while I lived in St. Louis, MO.  My husband was getting his graduate degree, a Masters of Divinity at Covenant Seminary and these women were in the same boat.  We had a wonderful time together during this chapter of our lives and forged life-long friendships.  We also made it a habit to travel together, usually, as in this trip, we took the train from St. Louis to Chicago for a weekend of good food, good shopping, excellent wine and being together.  It made returning home to our “BIG” lives a whole lot more bearable!  Pictured with me are Kelly, Jenn & Claudia.  The lovely blonde was Jenn’s cousin who allowed us to shack-up in her unbelievable Chicago brownstone only steps from Michigan Avenue!

things to make you wonder~

“I am a frayed and nibbled survivor in a fallen world, and I am getting along. I am aging and eaten and have done my share of eating too. I am not washed and beautiful, in control of a shining world in which everything fits, but instead am wondering awed about on a splintered wreck I've come to care for, whose gnawed trees breathe a delicate air, whose bloodied and scarred creatures are my dearest companions, and whose beauty bats and shines not in its imperfections but overwhelmingly in spite of them...” Annie Dillard
